Peguam Mohd Azhier Farhan Arisin
Azhier Farhan bin Arisin is the Founding Partner of Messrs. Azhier Arisin & Co. and a law graduate with double law degrees from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam (UiTM). He completed his Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Bachelor of Legal Studies (Honours) in second class upper. Azhier started his pupillage under Datuk Adnan Puteh Esq., the senior member of the Bar and the Managing Partner of Messrs. Adnan Puteh & Saleh. Upon successful completion of his pupillage, he was called to the Bar as Advocate and Solicitor of High Court in Sabah and Sarawak.
Within his short stint, Azhier Farhan had the privilege of appearing in the Court of Appeal as counsel. He has gained extensive litigation and investigative experience in a wide range of civil and criminal cases notably as Counsel for:
• Corruption case under s.23 (1) of the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission 2009.
• Civil suit involving tenancy coupled with equity.
• RM500 millions suit for breach of trust (constructive trust) and fiduciary duty.
• Tort of conspiracy and breach of trust pertaining to native lands in Pegagau, Semporna.
• Civil suit involving unlawful trespass to land.
Azhier Farhan also handles disputes with regard to infrastructure and energy, specific recovery of moveable and immoveable property, matrimonial affairs, probate and letters of administration. Although his area of responsibilities largely focuses in conducting civil and criminal litigation, Azhier Farhan has relative experience in handling corporate, infrastructure and energy assignments. His past assignment includes:
• Assisting in advising Sabah Ports Authority (SPA) to repeal and reenact Sabah Ports Authority (Scale of Due and Charges) Regulation 1977.
• Assisting in advising Sipitang Oil & Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC) for development of Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP) at Sipitang, Sabah.
• Assisted in conducting legal due diligence on corporate clients.
